Richmond Hill, Georgia
Henry Ford’s winter travel spot, Richmond Hill has a lot of history to show. From the dozen or so historic churches to town’s Richmond Hill Historical Society, the town offers at least a few days of sightseeing. There’s also some of the best food in Bryan County. Here you can find a range of ethnic restaurants and fulfilling homestyle meals.
Offering homestyle barbecue and some of the biggest hamburgers in town, the Smoking Pig is easily one of the most popular restaurants in Richmond Hill. The pulled pork sandwich is the tenderest, juiciest thing on the menu, and it’s piled high with pulled pork and just the perfect amount of BBQ. Their signature Brunswick Stew is out of this world. Between the beans, thick tomato sauce and the tender meat, it’s hard to see how anybody could order anything else.

La Nopalera singlehandedly puts all other Mexican joints to shame. Their margaritas are huge, and they definitely do NOT skimp on the tequila. The same goes for their entrees. The portions are gigantic and practically overflowing from the plate. If it’s your first time, go with the Arroz Rancher, a fajita-styled dish full of pork, chicken and steak. The waiters here are outstanding. You’d think that they were born with a smile on their faces.

With a wide range of sandwiches, from the Godfather classic Italian to the Little Havana, Uptown Deli is the perfect place for a delicious, quick lunch. The Little Italy (a huge meatball sub) is big enough to fill any appetite, while the dill shrimp salad is a perfect option for a light dish for seafood lovers. The pasta sides here are wonderful, so be sure to order a pound or two to take home with you.

Molly McPherson’s Scottish Pub & Grill
A great bar with even greater food, Molly McPherson’s is the place to go for a night out in Richmond Hill. For a great appetizer over drinks, the Scotch Eggs or the Highland Shrimp Poppers can’t be beat. Of course, being a Scottish bar, they have some of the best single-malt whiskey in the area. Best of all, you can try a flight to see which ones resonate with you the best. The atmosphere is pretty casual. The bar is tightly packed and ripe for making new friends or getting to better know old ones.

For a great espresso or a wonderful cup of joe, you can’t find much better than Espresso Hill. They also have amazing sandwiches like their Cranberry Chicken Pecan or their Cajun Turkey panini.
